Trump threatens to cut federal funds for New York City if Mamdani wins mayoral race

US President Donald Trump on Monday said he would hold back federal funds for New York City if Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani wins Tuesday’s mayoral election. Trump urged New Yorkers to vote for former New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an independent after losing to Mamdani in the Democratic primary.
