Turkey’s CHP holds emergency congress amid turmoil

Turkey’s main opposition, the Republican People’s Party (CHP), will hold its 22nd Emergency Congress on Sunday after a court case challenging the previous congress was postponed to October 24. Party leader Özgür Özel will run unopposed, with delegates first voting on a confidence motion, followed by elections for party chair, Party Assembly, and High Disciplinary Board.
