Today in Kyiv, the funeral of Viktoria Roshchyna, a Ukrainian journalist tortured and killed in a Russian prison, takes place. Her case, along with those of other civilian prisoners, was the subject of an investigation called the Viktoria Project, conducted by Forbidden Stories in partnership with France 24. This event coincides with the opening of an official Ukrainian investigation into the Taganrog prison director’s role in her abuse, marking a crucial step towards justice for victims of wartime atrocities. FRANCE 24’s Emmanuelle Chaze has the details from Kiev.
