Despite diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine, the conflict is still in full swing on the ground. Limited ceasefire measures have barred both Russia and Ukraine from targeting energy infrastructure and aimed to stabilise navigation of Black Sea shipping routes. But fierce fighting rages on along the front line, with Russian and Ukrainian troops engaging in drone attacks and artillery combat. FRANCE 24 reporters filmed with a Ukrainian artillery unit near the front line of Pokrovsk in the east of the country, one of the most intense combat areas. One exhausted artillery operator said he “just wants to go home”.
