US denies visas to Palestinian Authority leaders heading to UN General Assembly

The State Department said Friday that it would deny visas to members of the Palestinian Authority for next month’s UN General Assembly, including Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas. Under an agreement as the host of UN headquarters in New York, the US is not supposed to refuse visas for officials heading to the world body.
