US envoys visit Israel to bolster truce as Gaza militants hand over hostage’s remains

US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel Monday to shore up the shaky truce with Hamas following a day of deadly violence. The Palestinian militant group later handed over what it said were the remains of a hostage to Israel, where they are now being identified.
