A deal to shift TikTok’s US operations away from Chinese control is nearing completion and would place the popular app under a board dominated by Americans, the White House said Saturday. US officials, including during Trump’s first term, have warned that China could exploit TikTok to use Americans’ data or manipulate the content shown on the platform.
