Venezuela suspends energy agreement with Trinidad amid US warship dispute

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Monday he had suspended an energy agreement with Trinidad and Tobago after the Caribbean nation welcomed a US warship. In a televised address, Maduro accused Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of turning her country “into an aircraft carrier of the American empire against Venezuela.”
