Did Justin Bieber just get totally snubbed by his own momma for Father’s Day this year? Or is there something else going on?
This past Sunday was Father’s Day in the US. Many stars celebrated the holiday by shouting out their dads — or, if they are dads themselves, getting shout-outs from their children and other family members.
But not JB! The Canadian pop star spent his Father’s Day in a particularly brutal and “broken” way, posting some pretty upsetting comments. And his own wife Hailey Bieber got downright shady with how she approached (or, uh, didn’t approach) celebrating the annual dad day. And now, the Biebs’ mom is getting in on the non-action, too. Well… maybe.

So JB’s momma Pattie Mallette did NOT share any Instagram posts celebrating her son on Sunday — despite the fact it was his first Father’s Day! Yeah, it’s been a little less than a year after the birth of his and Hailey’s infant son Jack Blues Bieber. This should have been a big deal! And yet not a single (public) peep from Pattie to show love to the Baby crooner.
Whoa!
Naturally, it raises the question: are Justin and his momma feuding?? After all, Pattie went out of her way last month to drop a profusely sweet and heartfelt post about Hailey when it came time to celebrate Mother’s Day! As you may recall (below), that mid-May momma’s day post directed at the Rhode Beauty founder was BEAMING:
“Happy Mother’s Day Hailey, you are such a gift to our family — graceful, strong, and full of love. Watching you step so fully and beautifully into motherhood has been such a joy. I love you.”
Sweet, right?! But nothing for her son? Could it be that she was really hurt by the crooner’s “vile” take on Mother’s Day?! Could Justin and his momma be engaging in a feud about something else altogether?!
Or… maybe Pattie was just going through a really tough time. See, Sunday wasn’t just a day to celebrate Justin; it was also a day for Pattie to celebrate the memory of her own father. That’s right — Sunday marked the first time Pattie spent Father’s Day without her own beloved “Papa.”
In a very touching IG post lamenting that fact, Pattie wrote:
“This is my first Father’s Day without Papa. A month has passed, and it still feels unreal. There’s so much I wish I could say, and more I wish he could be here for. I wasn’t his biological daughter, but I was his in every way that mattered. He never made me feel less. Technically, he was my stepdad — but I never liked that term. He was the dad who stepped up — and into the father role in my life with both feet and an open heart. He was the only dad I’ve ever really known. And he was a good dad.”
From there, she continued:
“I can still picture him sitting in his favorite chair — same spot, same quiet smile, calm and content like always. He didn’t need to say much. Just being near him made you feel safe, like things were going to be okay. There was something deeply comforting about that — his presence, his consistency, his quiet love. It made home feel like home.”
And then after sharing several Bible verses, she powerfully concluded:
“This isn’t goodbye — it’s a ‘thank you,’ and ‘we’ll see you again someday.’ I know you’re in heaven now, whole and at peace. Until we meet again, we’ll carry you with us—in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the way we love… because your love is part of who we are now. Thank you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day in heaven. I miss you deeply and love you always.”

Okay, so, there’s no question it’s notable Pattie didn’t acknowledge her son’s first Father’s Day.
But knowing what we know now, we’re loathe to jump to the conclusion it was because of a growing rift. It seems just as likely she didn’t post for JB because the day was so unbelievably painful for her to get through without her own papa around. Right?
