Dua Lipa has performed a cover of Fleetwood Mac‘s iconic hit ‘The Chain’ in Los Angeles – check it out below.

The singer has been making a habit of covering a song from a local artist at every show on her current ‘Radical Optimism’ World Tour – which kicked off its North American leg at the start of last month.

Last week (October 4), Dua Lipa brought her ‘Radical Optimism’ tour to Los Angeles, where she paid tribute to Fleetwood Mac by performing a cover of their 1977 hit ‘The Chain’. Introducing the track, Lipa said to the audience: “During this tour, I’ve taken the time to honour local musicians and hone in on what makes them unique and what makes them that little bit of magic.”

“This next song is by a band that’s done exactly that in Los Angeles. They made an incredible album here in the ’70s… this is ‘The Chain’”.

So far, Lipa has covered a number of large artists in the cities she’s performed in all tour long, including Ariana Grande in Miami, Aerosmith in Boston, Sinéad O’Connor in Dublin, Daft Punk in Lyon, Lorde in Zealand and more.

The tour has also seen big-name artists join Lipa for versions of their own songs. So far, these have included Nile Rodgers for ‘Le Freak‘ in New York City, Chaka Khan for ‘Ain’t Nobody’ in ChicagoJamiroquai for ‘Virtual Insanity’ in LondonNeil Finn for ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ in Auckland, and Kevin Parker for ‘The Less I Know The Better’ in Sydney.

Her two Wembley shows in June later became the subject of a mini-documentary titled Dua Lipa – The Beat Before (Wembley Stadium), which chronicled behind-the-scenes footage and fan vox-pops from the gigs.

In other Dua Lipa-related news, both she and her talent agency recently responded to claims she sacked her agent after he reportedly signed a letter calling for Kneecap to be removed from the Glastonbury line-up.

“It is always Free Palestine,” she wrote. “But exploiting a global tragedy in order to sell newspapers is something I find deeply troubling.”

Lipa has long been outspoken about Palestine. In 2021, she criticised an ad in the New York Times that labelled her, as well as models Bella and Gigi Hadid – both half-Palestinian – as Antisemitic, and, in 2023, was one of a number of celebrities to sign a letter to then-US President Joe Biden calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
