JoJo Siwa was not impressed with Miley Cyrus‘ joke!
Last weekend, the Hannah Montana alum filmed a video that was streamed at a World Pride event in which she emerged from a closet to wish everyone well, before teasing at the end:
“Alright, I’m going back to get some more pretzels and find JoJo Siwa and bring her back out.”

The comment stirred up a ton of controversy online as many were left shook over Miley’s apparent dig! See it (below):

JoJo’s new romance with Chris Hughes has already been a hot topic. They met on Celebrity Big Brother UK, and her time in the house made JoJo realize she doesn’t identify as lesbian anymore but “queer.” Immediately upon exiting, she broke up with her non-binary partner Kath Ebbs, and quickly started a relationship with her now-boyfriend. It’s been a lot for folks to take in!
Aside from just the fact many saw the comment as bi erasure, JoJo’s also been a massive fan of Miley since she was a little girl! So, to have your idol throw you under the bus like that couldn’t have felt good. Right?! Well, there’s no more guessing! The former child star has broken her silence!
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Karma singer shared a throwback photo of her at a Miley Cyrus-themed party as well as a selfie with the Grammy winner years later, remarking:
“I was happy at my 5th birthday having a Miley themed party, and I’m still happy now at 22… If you know me, you know that miley is my day 1, grew up beyond inspired by her from 2 years old on…”
But did that change once she saw that viral diss?
“I wasn’t sure how I felt about things for a couple of days… but I’ve started to come to some thoughts…. I don’t believe what Miley said at world pride was ill intended, honestly I think it was meant to be a joke, but just not very good one haha. Not what the world, or myself needs to hear anyday of the week.”
Oof. Certainly sounds like she was hurt. That said, she was able to hash it out with the Flowers hitmaker:
“I messaged miley light heartedly about it and she replied and said ‘All love. Always .
‘”
So, with that said, she’s remaining positive and planning to continue to live authentically — no matter what anyone has to say about her love life, the dancer expressed:
“Honestly the most beautiful thing I’ve learned in the last 5 years is that love is a gorgeous rainbow. Don’t question yourself, don’t second guess yourself, just love. Love love love love love.
