White Lotus Co-Stars Walton Goggins & Aimee Lou Wood Address Feud & Explain Instagram Unfollow TOGETHER In Emotional Interview!

Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood are FINALLY talking about their rumored feud!

It’s been a long and winding road for The White Lotus stars over the past several months. Drama began erupting after the show’s Season 3 finale — when fans noticed the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram! Despite Walton sharing a whole slideshow on his Story dedicated to the British actress and a ton of kind words, suddenly they weren’t friends?! Aimee Lou reciprocated the social media love, but fans were far more concerned with their mutual unfollowing.

In the pursuing weeks, rumors of on-set feuds percolated as both Walton and Aimee Lou dodged questions about their friendship status. Things got really ugly when Walton praised a Saturday Night Live sketch that mocked Aimee Lou — which she blasted on social media. You know the one…

And shortly after that, Walton REFUSED to talk about the Sex Education alum when asked point blank by London Times reported Ed Patton… To the point he even let out an F-bomb in a moment of frustration!

It’s all just been such a mess. And the radio silence has just made the situation all the more grabbing. But those days are over now… Because the pair just opened up about everything!

During a joint interview with Variety published on June 4, Walton and Aimee Lou sat down with the outlet to address things once and for all. And the Fallout actor started out with a bang! He said:

“There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me.”

OMG! Praising her career and where he expects it to go, he continued:

“This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island, I think Greece. But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”

We just got whiplash with how quick he is to praise her (and how effusive!) after months of staying silent! But on that note, Walton said the reason he never wanted to say anything — particularly in the London Times interview — was because he didn’t want to do it without his co-star:

“What am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never.”

He added that the reporter’s questions were “disgusting” and had a “divisive nature.” If you didn’t see the interview, one of the things the interviewer asked was if Walton and Aimee Lou bonded over their teeth. The Righteous Gemstones star recalled:

“What he was insinuating, it was so disgusting. It was so appalling. I was flabbergasted. And I said, ‘F**k mate, wow. I think we’re done here.’”

That’s valid…

Alright. Walton has said a LOT. So what does Aimee Lou think? Well, she opened up specifically about the Instagram unfollowing drama — and how it was all blown out of proportion:

“I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a s**t about Instagram. Why not have conversations about the story and Rick and Chelsea and enjoy it?”

She continued:

“Eventually I just started to sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing.”

At that moment, Walton chimed in to reveal exactly why he unfollowed Aimee Lou… It’s because he’s bad at goodbyes:

“If I may add, just to put this to bed? The following or unfollowing. I’m a grown-ass man. When I left ‘Justified,’ I went up to [Timothy Olyphant], and I hugged him and I said, ‘I love you, and I hope I see you in rooms for the rest of my life. I didn’t talk to him for almost two years. I’ve done that with every single thing that I’ve done.”

He continued:

“My catharsis in this experience was different than other people’s, because of my history in this place.”

Walton traveled to Thailand after his first wife passed away. Two decades later, he returned to the same place to film The White Lotus. He continued:

“I knew what we had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea.”

He began to break down, adding:

“And I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, this is what I’ve gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.”

The 53-year-old noted that after filming wrapped, “[he] needed to just back away from everyone.” He explained:

“I haven’t spoken to anyone. I couldn’t handle it. Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a f**k what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that’s what I needed to do for me to process all of this.”

He declared he would’ve done the same to former co-stars, like Olyphant and Michael Chiklis in The Shield, had he been following them on social media at the time. And a moment later, he announced he was ready to re-follow Aimee Lou:

“It’s all so ridiculous. It’s just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f**king ever.”

She tells him “I completely understand” before he responds, “I love you.” He added:

“I’m emotional because we haven’t been in the same city to ever talk about this. So for me, this is just so wonderful.”

While wiping away tears, he concludes:

“Hopefully that answers everybody’s questions. What else? Do you guys want to talk about astrology?”

Whew, that is a LOT.
