France is set to officially recognise the State of Palestine at the United Nations summit, joining countries such as the UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal, which have already taken the step. The move is being framed as a symbolic gesture to support a two-state solution and push for renewed diplomatic efforts between Israel and Palestine. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lashed out at the decision, insisting that a Palestinian state will not happen.
