Is The Kelly Clarkson Show on the road to becoming The Hoda Kotb Show?
It seems likely Kelly Clarkson is ready to walk. And the latest rumors circulating suggest Hoda Kotb will be making her return to TV soon — in the American Idol alum’s place! With Kelly being absent from a lot of her recent talk show episodes, plus insiders saying she’s ready to throw in the towel, fans have been speculating someone might just slide into her daytime slot. Enter… Hoda.
But is there any truth to the speculation?

Hoda is tackling the rumors head on. It’s clear she just can’t stay away from daytime TV! She paid a visit to her old gig at the Today Show on Wednesday to plug her new wellness brand Joy 101. But along the way she also got to see some old pals, as well as her replacement Craig Melvin. And he straight up asked her about the Kelly rumors! Not one to beat around the Jenna Bush Hager, she responded:
“Do y’all think — I want to ask y’all a real question — do you think if I ever came back to TV, do you know where the only place I would ever come back to is? Right here. This is the spot … Delete, not true.”
Aww!
Savannah Guthrie then chimed in and joked:
“I thought you were because I know you’ve been playing your guitar and singing a lot lately, and I thought you were ready for some Hodaoke.”
Ha! But nope, Hoda is not ready to tackle the beloved (and difficult) Kellyoke segment, it seems!
The 60-year-old broadcaster will be on Kelly’s show next week, though — just not as a new host. See the full interview (below):
