XO have recently (October 17) shared a fierce new single called ‘Real Friends’ that’s been co-written by Charli XCX – listen to it below.
Their latest single, which is described in a statement as a “swaggering and empowered electro-pop anthem that champions those who will always be on your side”, is the follow up to their debut single, ‘Lovesick’, which was released last month.
It’s written by the band alongside Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter collaborator John Ryan and Sweden’s Mattias Larsson.
Speaking about the track and their ascent since August 2024, the band’s Zoë Miller said: “We’re not quite Hollywood Hills yet. I’m definitely on the double decker bus.”
The band is made up of five members: Miller, Summer Askew, Shali Bordoni, Emmy Statham, and Reanna Sujeewon.

In other Charli XCX news, the musician appeared with Lorde at the weekend for a performance of ‘Girl, so confusing’ in Los Angeles.
Lorde is currently out on her ‘Ultrasound’ world tour, which last Saturday (October 18) took her to Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, where she surprised the crowd by bringing out Charli for a high-octane rendition of their collab track.
The ‘Girl, so confusing’ remix first came around when Charli admitted Lorde served as partial inspiration for the original lyrics, admitting she was “super jealous” of her song ‘Royals’ and its success.
Said jealousy and comparison is what inspired the song’s anthemic pre-chorus: “People say we’re alike / They say we’ve got the same hair / We talk about making music / But I don’t know if it’s honest”.
A few weeks after the release of ‘Brat’, Charli unveiled a new version of the track, this time featuring Lorde, with the two trading confessional lines about their perspectives of each other.
Recently, Charli XCX shared the first teaser for her upcoming new A24 film teaser, The Moment, was shared.
Written by Zamiri and Bertie Brandes, Charli star in the film, which, as per the official synopsis, will follow “a rising pop star navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.”
The teaser also revealed more of the cast list, which includes Kylie Jenner and Rachel Sennett as well as Rish Shah, who appeared in Ms. Marvel, Isaac Cole Powell, who starred in Armando Iannucci’s HBO series The Franchise, Kate Berlant, who starred alongside Nicolas Cage in 2023 movie Dream Scenario and Stath Lets Flats’ Jamie Demetriou.
Previously-announced cast members include Alexander Skarsgård (Succession), Rosanna Arquette and Trew Mullen (Blink Twice).
